Doug began in the landscaping business in his hometown of Spokane in 1974, moved from Spokane to the Eastside in 1980 and ventured out on his own in 1984 to begin The Northwest Gardener. Doug is a Certified Landscape Technician as well as a Certified Pesticide Application Technician and is currently interested in ways to organically reduce pests and unwanted weeds.
Doug met Connie in 1988 and they married in 1991. Connie had already been a successful business owner herself of two hair
salons in the Spokane area. She is now Business Manager for The Northwest Gardener.
Kyle began in his family’s landscaping business at fourteen, pulling weeds and learning the ropes on his summer breaks from school. Since then, he has become the company’s Installation Division Manager; overseeing large public works and smaller residential projects. He is both a certified arborist and irrigation technician. Kyle finds the most joy installing hardscapes. Patios, walls, water features and working with stone will always have him smiling. In his free time he enjoys camping, reading, animals, dancing, and fitness. Kyle can be reached by phone 360-668-8755, or by email at kyle@thenorthwestgardener.com.
Hunter began working for The Northwest Gardener part time at fourteen. Throughout the years, he has been an integral part of the TNWG team. Hunter attended Washington State University and Whatcom Community College prior to earning his Bachelor of Arts in Business Management at Western Washington University in 2016. Presently Hunter serves as the Maintenance Division Manager. Hunter can be reached by phone 360-668-8755, or by email at hunter@thenorthwestgardener.com.
"We love the professional touch The Northwest Gardener has given our front yard. Their landscaping design, eliminating mulch and bark run-off during periods of heavy rain, has greatly improved the look of our front yard and reduced the maintenance of the lawn and beds. We've appreciated their quick response to questions and follow-up care. Because of their willingness to work with us regarding design and cost, we can't wait for them to landscape our backyard!"
